Schedule Two weeknight days a week, 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM

Role Purpose

The Joint House Manager will work closely with the Dunblane House Manager to create a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our boarding students. Your primary focus will be supporting teenage girls in their academic and personal development, offering pastoral care, and upholding the College’s values.

  • Has prior experience working with teenage girls; pastoral care experience is essential.

  • Is flexible, proactive, and capable of handling a variety of tasks.
  • Shows strong interpersonal and leadership skills to foster a supportive and caring culture within the boarding community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Develop and nurture positive relationships with students, provide guidance, and promote a culture aligned with the College’s motto ‘By Love Serve’.
  • Pastoral Care: Support students' well-being, monitor their academic and social progress, and assist them with any personal challenges.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work seamlessly with the Dunblane House Manager and other staff members, maintaining open lines of communication with students, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Health and Safety: Uphold the highest standards of health and safety within the Boarding House to ensure the well-being of all students.

Duties Include:

  • Supporting daily routines and supervising evening activities.
  • Creating a warm, tidy, and well-organised living environment.
  • Assisting with student needs and maintaining a safe, caring space for all and assisting the Dunblane House Manager.
  • Communicating effectively with students, staff, and parents to foster a collaborative community.

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain calm under pressure.
  • High levels of initiative, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, honesty, and ethical behaviour.
  • A strong commitment to maintaining health and safety standards.

Desirable Experience

  • Teaching or pastoral care background with teenage girls.
  • Experience in working within a school or a similar setting involving teenage girls.
