About Us:

St Cuthbert’s Aquatic Centre is a world-class facility serving both internal and external customers by offering a wide range of aquatic services, including swim squads, PE lessons, water polo, fitness training, and events. Our Swim School is dedicated to delivering high-quality swim instruction in a safe and supportive environment, helping swimmers of all ages and abilities build confidence in the water.

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Assistant Manager to support the Swim School and the Aquatic Centre Manager in overseeing daily operations, with a key focus on swim school activities. This role involves staff coordination, marketing, administration, and ensuring the smooth running of our swim programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in swim instruction, leadership, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Coordination & Support

  • Assist in scheduling and managing swim instructors to ensure full class coverage.
  • Provide on-the-spot support, including stepping in to instruct classes when needed.
  • Assist with staff training and development to maintain high-quality instruction.
  • Supervise all swim school staff during shifts.

Marketing & Community Engagement

  • Support the promotion of the swim school through social media, events, and partnerships.
  • Assist in developing and executing advertising campaigns to attract new swimmers and retain members.
  • Maintain an active presence in the community to boost the swim school’s visibility.

Operations & Customer Service

  • Manage class enrolments, schedules, and customer inquiries.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to parents, guardians, and swimmers.
  • Ensure safety and operational protocols are followed.
  • Provide staff training and support.
  • Step in to cover the Aquatic Centre Manager when required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in swim instruction, coaching, or swim school management.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Background in marketing, advertising, or promotions is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • First Aid certification and relevant swim teaching qualifications (preferred).
  • Lifeguard qualification (preferred).
